Outdoor dining upstairs. Friendly quick service. Good food. Smaller menu than other places but choices are good.

Looked at the Reviews, liked the menu items. I ordered the ABC BURGER & my wife ordered the Shrimp and Fries. Our server was polite and took our order quickly. Waiting for the food to come will share my pics , Great tasting Shrimp and my burger was perfect, great view of the Ocean from the rooftop.

Nice spot to get a beer and grab a bite. Upstairs seating gives a nice ocean view, plenty of seating inside and outside. I had the fish n sweet potato fries. Basic, good not oily. Wife had ahi sashimi with a side of coleslaw. Clam chowder that was delicious. She enjoyed it. Good beer selection which I enjoyed. Full bar I believe. Tasty ahi egg rolls , as our appetizers. This was our second time there, service both times was great. Definitely will be back.

Schooners, Cayucos, CA - October 14, 2024 Let me start by saying we've always loved coming to Schooners, and that hasn't changed. The service and food have always been great, and the views from the second floor patio and the bottom outside patio looking out to the ocean are the best. I've never had a major problem with the drinks, but on this particular day, both my wife and I had two of the worst mixed drinks ever. I ordered an Old Fashioned and she ordered a Jalapeno Cucumber Lime Gin Martini. Just looking at my Old Fashioned I knew something was off. It was about the right color, but it was very murky. I couldn't see the cherry inside or what I would later find to be crushed slice of orange. When I tasted it, it almost seemed like it had peppery Bloody Mary mix in it. It was undrinkable. I poked around the glass a little and spotted what looked like a cherry stem. When I fished it out, there was a mashed cherry on the end of it. I told my wife I couldn't drink it and would send it back. My wife took one sip of her drink and had an almost identical reaction to mine. "What is this?" she asked. I took a sip and agreed it was terrible. It basically tasted like water with jalapeño. Unfortunately, we sent both of the drinks back and decided to cut our losses by not ordering another drink. On the flipside, the fish was good as always. So if I was rating Schooners on tonight's drinks, I would have to give them a zero. But the service, food, and ambience were all good as usual, so I'm gonna be generous and give them four stars for that and zero stars for the drinks. P.S., If your bartender wants to know how to make an Old Fashioned, it's easy - 2 oz. bourbon or rye whiskey, a couple teaspoons of simple sugar, 4 shakes of bitters, an orange peel slice, and a maraschino cherry (unsmashed). Not sure what to tell you about your jalapeno martini.
